Us at 20 weeks

I can't believe we're half-way there!  The first 12 weeks went by really slow, but now they're starting to fly by.  Right now I am trying to figure out what the nursery's going to look like.  I've got to figure out what kind of bedding I want first and then go from there.  We've got our crib and dresser/changing table already up and in the room, so I'm glad to have that taken care of.  This baby's going to be here before we know it!!

How far along?   20 weeks and 3 days
Total weight gain/loss:  Maybe gained 5 lbs.
Maternity clothes?  Love 'em.
Stretch marks?   None.
Sleep:   I've been sleeping really well these days.  The little one has her days and nights mixed up already!  She loves to kick when I'm trying to fall asleep.
Best moment this week:   Trey getting to feel her kick so many times.
Movement:   Constant!  Rolling, kicking, wiggling.
Cravings:  Not really.  I've been eating a lot more fruit than usual, but that's probably because it's summer.
Gender:   Baby girl!!
Labor Signs:  None
Belly Button in or out?  Still in, but changing.
What I miss:   WINE!!
What I am looking forward to:   Our next appointment at the end of July.
Weekly Wisdom:   ?
Milestones:  Making it half-way!!

Megan Lael Ingram "Mae"

Well, folks, it's definitely a GIRL!  We got confirmation this morning.  We are naming her Megan Lael Ingram and we're calling her "Mae".  Megan is after my sister and Lael is Hebrew for "Belonging to God".  To avoid confusion with her aunt Megan and to make it unique for our daughter we decided to combine the "M" in Megan and the "ae" in Lael to make "Mae"!  After much thought, prayer, and discussion we are so happy to have a name for her!

Sweet little profile

Here's the proof!  There's nothing there!

I LOVE this picture.  Look at that little hand!

Father's Day

We had a great day yesterday, and Trey especially enjoyed his first Father's Day as a Daddy-to-be!  Here he is with the "Diaper Dude" diaper bag I gave him!  He LOVES it, and I know he's glad he won't have to lug around a girly bag when he takes the baby out.  He was so impressed and excited that it came with its own changing pad. :)  I told him that they all come with one of those...he's so funny.  It has a bunch of nice little compartments to store all things baby!

We went to Moma and Daddy's for the afternoon and went out on the boat.  We got my dad a two seater tube to ride in behind the boat, and we had a ball with that!  Don't worry, it was the kind you can sit on, and I only rode in smooth water. :)
Trey got some bibs and a car seat mirror from my parents that came from our registry.

Here's my Daddy with his little "I love Grandpa" bib.   They can keep it at their house for when we come visit.

More dresses

Here is my frugal find!  I bought this Feltman Brothers dress for $20 at a consignment store!!  It retails in the $60 area, so I felt like I had found a treasure!  I don't think it's ever been worn!
I just love these kind of dresses because they are so classic and can be passed down from generation to generation.  I wore a Feltman Brothers dress home from the hospital when I was born, but unfortunately, my mom can't find it.  I have a lot of girl cousins and all of our things were passed down, so it probably got lost somewhere in the mix. :(

My moma sent me this next dress in the mail!  The smocking is so beautiful, and it's probably something I couldn't or wouldn't have the patience to do myself.

Moma sent me these little bloomers, too!  The funny thing about these is that Megan and I actually wore these as our underwear until we were about ten years old!  Ha!  Moma said that they just looked so much cuter than the cotton undies with Disney characters on them (I agree) and that they held up so much better in the wash.

This is a picture of one of the dresses I smocked a while back.  Baby Ingram won't get to wear it until she gets a little older, but I'm glad to have this for her when the time comes.

I'm beginning to embrace the girlyness of having a little girl!  We'll see on Monday for SURE that it is, indeed, a little girl!  19 week pictures coming!

Benson's birthday!

Thursday was Benson's 2nd birthday party, and I was, again this year, the designated photographer!  I really enjoy doing it!  It was at Monkey Joe's and the kids had a ball!

What a ham!

Benson holding his "B" shirt that I made!

Benson lovin' on the baby!  The first thing he said to me was, "Hey K-K!  Baby, tummy!"  What a smart kid!

My little purchase

Last week my friend and neighbor, Rhem, and I went out to lunch at Jason's Deli (they have the BEST salad bar), and before heading home she took me to her mom's store, The Grey Goose!  It's located on Augusta Rd. and has the most precious children and baby clothes!  I just had to spoil myself and buy a little something for Baby Ingram.  I found this little sleeper called a Paty gown, and apparently they are very popular with moms.  They're so soft, and come in light pink, light blue and white.  I do like the color pink, but I'm just not a very "pink person".  This gown does have a little on it though.  I love to find girl things in blue, green, and yellow.

On another note, Trey and I did a little registering last night!  We went out to eat with some friends and were really close to the Babies R Us, so we decided to go in and peruse.  We thought since we were together that we could just go ahead and begin our registry and put some things on there that I know right now that we'll want.  There are many other things that I have yet to make a decision on, so we'll have to wait on those things.  I mean, I'm like the most indecisive person ever...wait, scratch that, my best friend, Jessica might be worse than me!  We're always needing each other's opinion on things ranging from "big deal" things to "ridiculously not a big deal, but we've made it into a big deal and can't help it" things.  She really helps me a lot with making decisions.  Others can usually see things more clearly and be more rational!  My sister helps me a lot in this area, too.  These pregnancy hormones make my decision making skills even worse!  Needless to say, I have a hard time picking out baby stuff.  I'm trying to not let it stress me out and just enjoy it!

Question for new or expectant mothers:
What kind of bottles should I use?  I plan to nurse Baby Ingram, but I also want to pump and need to know what kind of bottles I should get.  I found a kind call Prince Lionheart that had good reviews, and I've used Avent bottles when I was a nanny, and then ofcourse, everyone likes the Dr. Brown bottles.  The only thing about those are all the parts to clean.  I would appreciate any kind of advice!  I'm looking for something good and simple!  Thanks!

18 Weeks!

Here we are again!  I've been feeling great, and have been feeling her kick more and more!  I absolutely love to feel it.  At the beginning of the pregnancy I really didn't know how much I was going to enjoy being pregnant, but after about week 13 when the sickness started to subside I began to really love it!  I've heard that the 2nd trimester is kind of like the honeymoon period, but I'm hoping that most of the 3rd trimester will be fun, too.

Proud Papa Trey!

Lake Day

On Wednesday two of my good friends from Greenville came with me to my parents' house in Lexington!  All three of us are expecting in the month of November, and it's been such a blessing to share this ride together.  It's hard for us to talk about anything other than pregnancy and our little bundles on the way!  Kennerly (left) is having a little boy and Molly (right) hasn't found out yet!  We are all anxious to know!

All three of our husbands are attorneys at the same firm, and all of us go to the same church. These friends have been such a blessing!

We took the boat out on the lake and spent the day lounging in our floats and baking our bellies. :)  Daddy and Moma cooked out hamburgers for us for dinner!

Little Kicks!!

Baby Ingram has been movin' and shakin' in there a lot today!!  When I was lying in bed this morning I felt her roll around!  It felt so funny!  Then, later this afternoon I was lying down reading a book and I kept feeling the same little kick in the same spot.  I put my hand down on my tummy very lightly and felt it with my hand.  Figuring she was on a roll I called out to Trey who was in the other room and asked him if he wanted to feel the baby kick.  He said, "What?!!", ran into the room, and put his hand in the same spot.  Low and behold, she gave another little kick for her Daddy!  It was so special for him to feel it for the first time.
She kept at it for quite a while and one time she kicked so hard that I actually was able to see it! Aunt Megan was here, too, and felt it quite a few times!
It's really amazing that we have felt her this early in the pregnancy...I think I'm in for it for the rest of the pregnancy if she's already this strong!  I love it though-what a blessing.

"The Bump" at 17 weeks!

Well, folks, here it is!  Both of us are getting bigger everyday!  It's quite surreal to see your body morph into this shape you've never seen!
I found this fun little questionnaire, so I thought I would include it today.
How far along?   17 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss:   I've probably gained about 3 or 4 lbs.  But it fluctuates a lot.
Maternity clothes?  That's all I'm wearing these days!  They are so comfortable, and I love them!  All pants should have an elastic waistband in them!
Stretch marks?   Gosh, no!  Hopefully I won't get them!  My mom didn't get them in her pregnancies, so hopefully I'll take after her!
Sleep:   Sleep has been a struggle.  I've been waking up around 5:30 every morning and can't go back to sleep.  I'll lay there for about an hour and then I can fall asleep again.
Best moment this week:   Got some sweet little gifts in the mail from Trey's mom for our girl!
Movement:  One night when I was lying there in bed awake at 5:30 I felt the baby move two times in a row!  It always makes me smile.
Cravings:  I've had these weird cravings for soup!  I know that's so strange especially in this hot weather, but that's what I've had a hankerin' for!  I've also wanted fresh salads or wraps for lunch instead of sandwiches.
Gender:   Baby girl!!
Labor Signs:  None
Belly Button in or out?  Still in, and I think it will stay in.
What I miss:   Running.  I always thought I would keep running when I got pregnant.  I know that it is totally okay and healthy during pregnancy, but there 's just something about bouncing around that isn't appealing to me.  And plus, I was really sick from week 7 to week 13.  Kinda got out of the routine.
What I am looking forward to:   Our 20 week appointment on the 26th!
Weekly Wisdom:   ?
Milestones:  Every week is a milestone!

Us with our first baby items!

These pictures were taken of us probably about a week after we found out we were expecting!  My sweet Memama sent us a precious little sleeper and matching receiving blanket.  It was so exciting to get our first baby items!

More pics!

Okay, two posts in one day- wow!  But I have a lot to catch up on!

When we had our ultrasound last week the tech turned on the 4D capability on the ultrasound machine!  She says she just likes to see it- and so do we!!  Our little girl needs to put on a little baby fat, but I'm sure she'll get there eventually.  Um, considering her father was a whopping 11 lbs., 8 oz. !  Yeah, I know, scary.

I love this picture because it makes her seem so much more real!  I mean, she has elbows!  She's just sittin' back relaxin'!

Next is a picture of "the bump" at 14 weeks!  This is around the time (May 19th to be exact) when I felt my first kicks/flutters!  I kind of think that I felt them before then, but I was SURE of what those feelings were this particular time!  There were three little thumps right in a row in the same spot!  It was so neat.  Since then I have been feeling our little one fluttering around in there a lot more!

Next is Daddy-to-be with his Baby Bjorn.  I gave him this for our anniversary!  He says that he's going to hold her ALL THE TIME when she gets here, so I thought this would be useful for him when we go places.  She already has him wrapped around her little finger...I guess I'll have to be the one with the iron fist in this family! :)

Our first little baby girl is going to be in shock when this baby gets here...poor thing.  She won't be the queen bee anymore, but she'll still be pretty darn special!

Introducing Baby Ingram!

Well, before too much time goes by I decided I wanted to start documenting our pregnancy!  We have a little miracle due to arrive on or around November 14!  We went in for our 16 week appointment last week, and I talked our doctor into letting us get an ultrasound!  It looks like we're having a little GIRL!  We will look again at our 20 week appointment just to be sure, but the ultrasound tech and the doctor were pretty confident from what they saw!  We will be 17 weeks tomorrow!  We are absolutely thrilled, and would love to share some of our journey with whomever is interested!  Enjoy!
