On May 14th Trey and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary!
I don't know about you, but for some reason the number 5 just makes me happy. It's just a solid number. You feel like you've really accomplished something with this number. Or at least I do.
Any number that is divisible by 5 gives me a, hmmm...how do I put this? A satisfaction of some sort?? If I can't have that then any number divisible by two will work.
Let me explain myself a little bit better (for those of you like my husband who are boggled by these statements). When I was expecting, our due date was November 14th. This worked for me because Trey and I became engaged on September 14th and got married on May 14th. This would work out perfect!! Well, Little Miss Slow Poke decided she would mess up the trend and stay cooped up in my belly for 3 days more. You do the math. This ended up being the 17th. I must admit that even though I would have never said this at the time because I
wanted her out so badly I was about to pull my hair out was so very excited, but my child being born on any day with the numbers 3, 7, or 9 in it just bugged me. Let's just say that if I had to have a scheduled C-section I would not have chosen a number with a 7 in it. It's hard to remember, ya know? Just sayin'.
In the end I really am so happy that it ended up being on the 17th solely because Lael shares her birthday with my cousin, Katie. That is very special and I love it.
Why do I feel this way about the number 5? I really don't know. If I owed you $9 I would rather just give you $10. If the weather says it's going to be 71 degrees, just say 70 for crying out loud. Does the 1 really make much of a difference?
Furthermore, when I'm getting gas at the gas station it peeves me to no end if I get to the $30 dollar mark and go a cent more by accident. Almost sends chills down my back.
I have gotten way off the subject now.
All of that to say, I am happy to be at the 5 year mark with the love of my life. He has been my rock, my sweetheart, and my confidant since day 1. I love you, Trey.
I made this little video as my gift to him this year. It's of my favorite memories from our engagement until now. Make sure to turn your volume up and enjoy.
