Here's a tip before you sip--GIVEAWAY!!

Yes, yes. Corny title. So sue me, I like to rhyme.

All the time.

On a dime.

It isn't a crime. That I like to rhyme.

Okay. On with it.

You know how at six months you're supposed to introduce a sippy cup to your baby?
Um, yeah, soooooo I didn't really do that.
Well, I did, but she just didn't get it, and I really didn't feel like messing with it. So I didn't.
She did understand how to sip the water out, but sometimes she would just bite the spout.
And since she didn't understand the concept of tipping up the cup to get the drink to come out, she would make me feed it to her.
Throw me a bone, baby girl.

About a month ago I found out when letting her have a sip of my diet coke filtered water that she can drink out of a straw. I was proud. I mean, I was like, very proud. 'Cause that's a big step!
After our pediatrician suggested at our nine month check-up that we find a straw sippy cup, I was out on the prowl to find a good one. One that doesn't spill. That is key. 'Cause ya'll know I'm all about not havin' juice stains on my new carpet.

Well, friends, I found one.
Drum roll, please.

*Time out.*
Wait. Am I really this excited about a sippy cup?
Yes, Kelli, you are. It's okay. Just embrace it.

Ahem, where was I?

They come in a lovely assortment of colors, and apparently they are quite popular. I saw them at Target and then went back a week later to get one and they were all gone. So, I went byBabies R Us and got the very last one.
I love it because you can flip it close when you throw it in the diaper bag, Lael can hold it herself very easily, and she doesn't have to tip it up to get her water. I've started leaving it on the floor with all of her toys when she's playing and have caught her multiple times sip sippin' away!

Aaaaaaah, the joys. It's the little things, ya know?

Annnnnnnnd...

Because I like you all so very much, I'm going to give one away!
For free!

I'm good friends with the Nuby Company and all.
Btw, they wanted to pay me for the advertisement, but I told them I just wanted to do this out of the goodness of my heart. :)

If you don't have a sippy cup age kid, no worries! Enter anyway and give it to a friend!

Don't be shy. Just leave a comment before midnight (Eastern time) on Sunday and I will randomly choose a number and announce the winner on Monday! Good luck!

  6. I found your blog through a friend and kept up with it because our daughter's due date was 11/13/09, but she was born 11/20/09, so they're not far apart :) We ran into the same issue with sippy cups (but I can get her to drink from a juice box straw, which she then squeezes, and we have juice everywhere); it didn't occur to me to get one with a straw. I'd love to win the cup and let our sweet girl try it! Thanks for the giveaway :)

  8. Thanks for the advice on which cup you like best, since we will be looking at those before too long! The choices are so overwhelming it seems like, and it's nice to hear from another mother what you really liked about the cup, instead of trying to wade through all the commercial advertising! lol Lael's such a cutie!

    Hope your family is well!
