a lovely lovey GIVEAWAY

Lael is in love with her Lovey. Any time I type that word my spellcheck tries to tell me that it's not a word. But it's a word. In our house, at least. At times we have called it a "Snuggly", but Trey gets confused and refers to it as a "Snuggie". That's when I have to remind him that our daughter does not love wearable adult blankets. So, I think "Lovey" is the preferred term.

A bit about the Lovey. When Lael was born I received a couple of these Angel Dear lovey blankets. I adored them and thought they were so sweet, but thought, "Is this really that useful?". As she got older and became actually aware of objects in her presence, we started to give her the lovey in her car seat and in the crib. When she was fussy I could simply give her the pacifier, rub the lovey on her face, and put her in a blissful trance! I wrote a little about this here. I could never have imagined that these little blankets would bring her so much comfort.

This is her puppy lovey. She has a pig, a hippo and she used to have the frog but we lost it. Sad.

As soon as we give her the lovey she tries to kiss it. It's the first thing she reaches for when she hits those crib sheets.
And for the record, contrary to the appearance of this picture, she is not currently a thumb sucker. Fingers crossed.

I am an avid fan of security blankets...or in my case, a security animal...

Introducing...

kitty

my Kitty.
A face only a mother little girl could love.

Go ahead, laugh it up. I'll give you a minute.

Ya done yet?

Ahem.

If you are related to me, went to grade school, high school, or college with me, were on the cheerleading squad with me, or have ever slept in the same bed with me, you know this cat.

The funny thing about it is that I'm not a cat person at all.
But, I loved this Kitty. I would tickle my face with his tail(yes, he's a boy???), and it would soothe me to sleep. People never understood why I liked to sleep with him because he isn't very cuddly or soft, but I didn't care.
My sister hates this cat. I used to slap her with his tail... and it hurts.

Kitty now sleeps on a shelf in our closet. Sometimes I go and pick him up for a quick second just for old time's sake. Takes me back. But, I mean, I don't like, miss him or anything like that...ahem. I'm 27 years old. So I wouldn't ever say that sometimes I wish I could sleep with him...just for a night...ahem. Nope. I'm way too mature to ever think about that. Anyway...

So, all of that to say, I'm all about security objects. At the right time and place, of course.

Lael is like, so STOKED to tell that we're going to give away a brand new Angel Dear Lovey!!
