38 weeks

38weeksruthie01

How far along? 38 weeks. Here is my picture with Lael. Again, I'm stunned by the difference in the size of my belly.
Total weight gain/loss: up 22 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Still lovin' 'em.
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: Other than having to flip from side to side almost every hour and visit the restroom about 5 times within the night, it's pretty good.
Best moment this week: Dancing with my love at Shelley and Ryan's wedding on Saturday. :)
Movement: No slowing down in this department. She's a mover and a shaker. I think she's even more active than Lael was. I've got some intense rib pain going on.
Cravings: Yes! Watermelon and any other kind of fruit. I've also been drinking a LOT of milk (along with Oreo cookies every night :). And my new favorite guilty pleasure...

sl

McDonald's frozen strawberry lemonade!
Pucker up and GO TRY this sweet, sour and refreshing treat!
My honey goes out and gets me one anytime I want.
I love him.

Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: Just braxton hicks contractions, and at my 37 weeks appointment I was happy to find out that there is already some progress!
Belly Button in or out? Flattened out and one little part sticks out. You can kind of see it through some of my shirts... just lovely.
What I miss: There are a lot of things that I miss, but as much as I want to meet this little girl I know that I will also miss the sweet blessing of pregnancy when it's all over. That being said, I'm constantly reminding myself of how quickly these next two weeks will go by, and I'm trying to savor every moment with Lael as the only child.

What I am looking forward to: My sister and a couple of friends of mine are throwing a "sprinkle" for Ruthie and me! So sweet! I'm looking forward to my appointment tomorrow, too.
Random facts: I have been running around like a mad woman trying to finish the nursery. Trey and I have worked tirelessly every evening and even though it's been a lot of work, we've had so much fun doing it together. I must brag on Lael, too because she has been such a trooper as I've drug her through countless stores. We're still working on the final touches and I'll share pictures when we're done!
Milestones: Last week we reached full term!

  3. I love seeing your belly grow. That baby in there is such a gift from God. It's hard to believe your tiny body can support that belly:) I also had large bumps. You are beautiful inside and out. Love reading your blog.

Second, what's a "sprinkle?" do tell!
